Sexually diamorphic, wingspan of male 15-16mm, female 19-20mm.

Afrotropical specis. recorded infrequently in the UK through accidental importation in citrus fruit, usually oranges.
The larvae is a pest of citrus and other fruits, including avocado pear, guava and maize cobs, cotton bolls, castor-oil seeds, tea seeds and chilli peppers.
